Position Description :

Insurance Verification Coord - PreService

The Insurance Verification Coordinator is responsible to confirm insurance coverage provisions and limitations via telephone and on-line tools for all Outpatient visits at PMCH. Verification includes but not limited to confirming patient eligibility, obtaining benefits, obtaining referrals, work with the departments to assist with securing authorization (pre-certification) for the rendered services and determining all patient financial liabilities. This position collaborates repeatedly with the Hospital’s Financial Counselors and Financial Advocate’s to ensure the Health System is fully reimbursed from all potential financial resources.

Minimum Requirements :

Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Health Related field desired. Previous experience required within a Hospital Revenue Cycle Department. Have a strong knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA regulations, and insurance/payer regulations in regards to benefits and pre-certification requirements. Knowledge of State and Federal Financial Assistance Programs preferred, experience discussing and resolving financial situations with patient and/or patient guarantor, strong confidence discussing and collections of patient payments.
